It could be attributed to Sabrina Carpenter's growing popularity or the industry's fixation on a perfect complexion. However, the "angel makeup" or "angel beauty" trend has now become the latest craze to take over social media.

It could be attributed to Sabrina Carpenter's growing popularity or the industry's fixation on a perfect complexion. However, the "angel makeup" or "angel beauty" trend has now become the latest craze to take over social media.
Carpenter appeared at the Governor's Ball in New York City, showing off her bouncy curtain bangs and glossy glow, which further popularized this style. "Angel beauty is a delicate, feminine aesthetic that combines ethereal innocence with a touch of damsel-in-distress vibes," says Sarah Biggers-Stewart, a professional makeup artist and the founder and CEO of Clover by CLOVE + HALLOW. "It features glowing skin, a rosy flush, large sparkling eyes, and a full glossy lip."
In essence, according to Jenny Patinkin, a professional makeup artist and the founder of Jenny Patinkin Beauty Tools, this look can be described as "a seductive, girl-next-door appearance." It manages to exude sexiness without going overboard. In Patinkin's opinion, the "element of simplicity and sweetness" is crucial to the successful execution of this style.
"Angel beauty," according to celebrity makeup artist and Morphe ambassador Dominique Della Maggiore, is a synthesis of subtle yet ethereal elegance. This aesthetic emphasizes the use of light, neutral tones for the eyes and delicate pastel hues on the cheeks and lips, as well as spotlighting a luminous, radiant complexion.
The essence of Cherub Cheeks lies in the face's radiance and natural glow. Patinkin underscores the importance of utilizing products and methods that create a 'lit-from-within' appearance rather than an artifice. "Cream-based products integrate seamlessly with the skin, unlike powders, which can appear heavy on the surface. Employing the underpainting technique with a radiant primer, a sheer pink blush, and a subtle highlighter achieves a more organic, lifelike look," she explains.
A Smokey Eye with a Silver Twist doesn't have to rely on dark, bold hues. Maggiore advocates starting with a silver eyeshadow across the entire eyelid. "Ensure you blend this shadow towards the crease," she advises. "Subsequently, incorporate a darker gray or neutral brown into the outer corner and along the crease to amp up the depth. To add extra dimension, the same dark gray can also be carefully applied to the upper and lower lash lines. For an added punch of drama, consider mixing the shadow with setting spray."
Farewell to dark mattes and stubborn, long-wear lipsticks. Angelic beauty is all about embracing a radiant shine. While glosses may not offer the longevity of matte formulas, their added sheen enhances the overall ethereal glow. Baby pinks are the ideal selection for this aesthetic, but opt for sheer and glittery glosses to achieve a comparable effect.
A key aspect of the aesthetic revolves around a luminous skin finish, which can prove to be one of the most challenging looks to maintain. "The majority of dewy products are abundant in emollients to achieve that glossy sheen, but this also makes them susceptible to fading during the day," elucidates Biggers-Stewart. She advises applying makeup in multiple layers and focusing on specific facial zones to help prolong its wear.
